Melbourne Swordplay Guild an incorporated association representing Historical European Martial Arts schools in Melbourne. We have classes in the Melbourne suburbs of Footscray, Canterbury, Carlton and Werribee, Victoria, Australia.
Victoria’s longest running school, Melbourne Swordplay Guild – Footscray runs classes on Thursday nights at Victoria University, Footscray Park Campus focus on Italian styles often called Armizare; they are easy to reach via public transport and by car, so if you are interested in seeing what we do, you are more than welcome to come visit us in the Sports Aquatics Centre on Level 4 from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
Fechtschule Victoria runs classes on Saturdays at Canterbury Primary School and focus on the German Tradition of Kunst des Fechtens, drawing from the masters of the Liechtenauer lineage; they are also easy to reach via public transport and the best option to people in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. These classes run from 11am to 1pm every Saturday.
The School of Historical Fencing runs classes in Carlton on Friday nights and Saturdays, teaching primarily according to the Italian traditions of Knightly Combat, Swashbuckling (Sword & Buckler), and Rapier.
AESIR runs classes at Westgrove Primary School on Sunday mornings, teaching Scottish Regimental Broadsword and other weapons used historically in Britian.
